Dr. Sajib Kumar Sarkar (MBBS, MD) has graduated from Calcutta National Medical College, Kolkata (Batch of 2007). Following internship, He did 1-year Junior Residency in the Dept. Of Anaesthesiology in the same institute. He completed post-graduation in Biochemistry (MD) from Maulana Azad Medical College (Batch of 2015). During post-graduation his main focus of research was pesticide induced insulin resistance. He also investigated the role of different known medicinal plant extracts (eg. Jamun seed extract) in alleviating insulin resistance in cultured cell lines.

Currently, he is working as a PhD scholar under Dr. Subhradip Karmakar in the dept. Of Biochemistry, AIIMS, New Delhi. He is exploring the molecular pathogenesis of Gallbladder cancer which is a major health concern specially in north India.
