Nidhi Bhardwaj is currently working as a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry at AIIMS, New Delhi, under the guidance of Dr. Subhradip Karmakar. She is a part of the Gallbladder Cancer Research Group, where her work focuses on investigating the effects of agonists and antagonists of PPARα and PPARγ in gallbladder cancer cell lines and tissues. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology (Honours) from the University of Delhi and a Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Human Genetics) from the Central University of Punjab. Her master’s thesis, conducted under the mentorship of Professor Anjana Munshi, explored the role of calcium ions in ischemic stroke. During her postgraduate studies, she also co-authored review articles in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in a book. Following her postgraduation, she worked as a Genome Analyst at MedGenome Labs, During her tenure, she developed substantial expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS) and whole exome sequencing (WES). Her responsibilities included variant identification, annotation, and interpretation, utilizing a variety of advanced bioinformatics tools and genome analysis software to support both clinical diagnostics and research applications. Subsequently, she worked in the Department of Pathology at AIIMS, New Delhi, contributing to a project on the genomic profiling of high-grade B-cell lymphomas.
