Hello! I’m Deepak Kumar, a Research Fellow at the Karmakar Lab in the Department of Biochemistry at AIIMS New Delhi. My current research focuses on gallbladder cancer, specifically recreating the tumour microenvironment using 3D cell culture techniques, emphasising spheroid models.
I completed my M.Sc. thesis in the Department of Biochemistry, AIIMS New Delhi. where I investigated “Gut Microbiome Dysbiosis in Gallbladder Cancer.” This experience provided a solid foundation for my ongoing research interests in cancer biology and the interactions between the microbiome and cancer.
I was honoured to receive the First Prize for Poster Presentation at a national conference organised by the Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (HIMSAR) for showcasing my thesis work.
